The Pole Freak Exotic Championship is a fusion of pole acrobatics and exotic, sensual dance in challenging choreography. The competition is staged as a dance show, making it exciting for every spectator. The region's finest finalists will take the stage and battle for the prestigious grand prize and the title of overall champion.

Rules & Regulations

Exotic pole art competition divided into 3 categories:

  • Amateur
  • Professional / Elite
  • Doubles & Groups

All competitors must be over 18 years of age on the day of qualifications.

The stage features 2 poles, each 4 meters high, with a minimum distance of 3–3.5 meters between them. From the audience's POV, the static pole is on the left & the spinning pole on the right side of the stage.

Choreography requirements:

  • Equal use of both poles
  • Routine must be performed in high heels
  • Kneepads are allowed
  • Routine should last between 3 & 3½ minutes
  • Main tricks must be held for 2 seconds on the static pole or 1 full rotation on the spinning pole
  • Main tricks must be executed from the correct angle or position in relation to the judges panel
  • Props are allowed (setup & cleanup time is limited to 1 minute)
  • Inappropriate touching of one's intimate areas is prohibited
  • Stripping out of parts of costume is allowed, but all intimate areas must remain covered
  • Knee-high/thigh-high boots and grip-advantage materials (sticky leggings, etc.) are prohibited. Dry-hands solution, magnesium, etc. are allowed.
  • Music must begin & end with choreography
  • The music's lyrics must not contain any racially, politically, nationally or otherwise offensive themes & words

Amateur

First-time competitors without prior wins in amateur categories of other competitions.

Forbidden:

  • Deadlifts
  • Extreme-flexibility elements (Russian split, Spatchcock, Bird of Paradise, etc.) and elements combining a back extension with a 180° split at the same time (Marchenko, extended Eagle, extended Allegra, etc.)
  • Flips, drops and somersaults without contact with the pole and/or floor, i.e. where the body has fewer than two points of contact with the pole and/or floor at the moment of rotation

Allowed:

  • Flexy elements that do not require excessive strength or dynamics* to perform
  • Back extensions (Cocoon from Scorpio, Ballerina, Eagle and reversed Eagle, Janeiro, Allegra, etc.) as long as the knees are not fully extended during execution
  • Splits that require no strength during execution (Jade split, box split, etc.)
  • Inversions such as invert V and shoulder mount, as long as they are not performed with straight legs or as a deadlift / aerial deadlift

*Strength and dynamics refer to the entry, the exit and the hold of the element itself.

Professional / Elite

Competitors with prior wins in amateur categories of other competitions or who satisfy elite category requirements.

Mandatory:

  • Aerial deadlift — grip of choice (if performed as invert V or shoulder mount, both legs must be straight); knee flexion is allowed for all other grips
  • Flexy combo — linking at least 2 flexy elements (a split of at least 180° with full knee extension and/or a back extension, i.e. leg over the head); the elements must be connected in a meaningful, harmonious sequence without other elements in between
  • Power combo — linking at least 2 strength and/or dynamic elements into a meaningful, harmonious sequence
  • Power spin — a dynamic rotation on the static pole from which the body rises into an inversion of choice without touching the floor; a full circle of rotation must be completed without stopping or touching the floor

Doubles & Groups

Routines must include:

  • One spinning combo — linking at least 2 double elements* on the spinning pole
  • One static combo — linking at least 2 double elements* on the static pole
  • A synchronized or joint drop

*Double element: a figure/element on the pole formed by both competitors together, connected into a single unit and dependent on each other (separate synchronized elements do not count).

Maja Pirc

A self-taught pole artist and one of the most innovative pole dancers in Europe and worldwide. By creating new shapes and combinations, she inspires dancers and enriches the sport.

She started her pole career in 2012 and founded Pole Dance Studio M — the biggest pole studio in Slovenia. Known for breathtaking performances balancing flexibility, strength and elegance. A former competitive rhythmic gymnast and Survivor Slovenia finalist.

Professional pole dancer, instructor, choreographer & owner of Mighty "M" Station dance studio in Zagreb, Croatia.

Pole dancing since 2008 and an Exotic Pole Dance pioneer in the region — teaching pole for over 13 years & exotic pole for over 9 years. Former professional performer for Playboy, Coca-Cola, Burn, Ultra Europe and the Amber Lounge F1 after-party in Monaco.
